The Thinking Process (TP)
- The Thinking Process is an intriguing collection of logic-based
tools
that promise to help people diagnose problem, find solution, and draw up
successful implementation plans. It is quite general and can be applied
to many kinds of problems from the shop floor to the executive suite.
- In practice, very few of the people who had been trained
in the Thinking
Process actually were using it (2). Companies that used the Thinking Process
extensively and routtinely, say the elements have been very valuable exercise--something
you avoid doing, but once you have done it you are glad you did. It forces
discipline in decisions and can yield important new insights. The Thinking
Process provides a comprehensive set of articulated tools for diagnosing
problems and designing actionable solutions.
