Evil
116. Make
haste towards the good
and check
the mind from evil.
The one who's
is slow in making merit
delights
in the mind in evil.
116. Hãy
g¤p làm ði«u lành,
Ngån
tâm làm ði«u ác.
Ai ch§m
làm vi®c lành,
Ý
ßa thích vi®c ác.
117. If one
should some evil do
then do it
not again and again.
Do not wish
for it anew
for evil
grows to dukkha.
117. Nªu
ngß¶i làm ði«u ác,
Ch¾
tiªp tøc làm thêm.
Ch¾
ß¾c mu¯n ði«u ác,
ChÑa
ác, t¤t ch¸u kh±.
118. If one
should some merit make
do it again
and again.
One should
wish for it anew
for merit
grows to joy.
118. Nªu
ngß¶i làm ði«u thi®n,
Nên
tiªp tøc làm thêm.
Hãy
ß¾c mu¯n ði«u thi®n,
ChÑa
thi®n, ðßþc an lÕc.
119. As long
as evil ripens not
even the
evil one goodness knows,
but when
the evil ripens
then that
person evil knows.
119. Ngß¶i
ác th¤y là hi«n.
Khi ác
chßa chín mu°i,
Khi ác
nghi®p chín mu°i,
Ngß¶i
ác m¾i th¤y ác.
120. As long
as goodness ripens not
even the
good one evil knows,
but when
the goodness ripens
then that
person knows the good.

chßa chín mu°i,
Khi thi®n
nghi®p chín mu°i,

hi«n th¤y là thi®n.
121. Think
lightly not of evil,
"It will
not come to me",
for by the
falling of water drops
a water jar
is filled.
The fool
with evil fills himself,
he soaks
up little by little.

chê khinh ði«u ác,
Cho r¢ng
'chßa ðªn mình',
Nhß
nß¾c nhö t×ng gi÷t,
R°i bình
cûng ð¥y tràn.
Ngß¶i
ngu chÑa ð¥y ác
Do ch¤t
chÑa d¥n d¥n.
122. Think
lightly not of goodness,
"It will
not come to me",
for by the
falling of water drops
a water jar
is filled.
The sage
with goodness fills himself,
he soaks
up little by little.

Cho r¢ng
'chßa ðªn mình',
Nhß
nß¾c nhö t×ng gi÷t,
R°i bình

Do ch¤t
chÑa d¥n d¥n.
123. As merchant
on a perilous path,
great wealth
having little guard,
as life-loving
man with poison
so with evil
heedful be.
123. Ít
bÕn ðß¶ng, nhi«u ti«n,
Ngß¶i
buôn tránh ðß¶ng hi¬m.
Mu¯n
s¯ng, tránh thu¯c ðµc,
Hãy
tránh ác nhß v§y.
124. If in
the hand's no wound
poison one
may bear.
A woundless
one is poisoned not,
non-doers
have no evil.
124. Bàn
tay không thß½ng tích,
Có
th¬ c¥m thu¯c ðµc.
Không
thß½ng tích, tránh ðµc,
Không
làm, không có ác.
125. Who
offends the inoffensive,
the innocent
and blameless one,
upon that
fool does evil fall
as fine dust
flung against the wind.

ngß¶i không ác tâm,
Ngß¶i
thanh t¸nh, không uª,
Tµi
ác ðªn kë ngu,
Nhß
ngßþc gió tung bøi.
126. Some
find birth within a womb,
evil-doer
quicken in hell,
good-farers
to the heavens go,
the Unpolluted
wholly cool.

s¯ sinh bào thai,
Kë ác
sinh ð¸a ngøc,

thi®n lên cõi tr¶i,
Vô
l§u chÑng Niªt Bàn.
127. Neither
in sky nor surrounding by sea,
nor by dwelling
in a mountain cave,
nowhere is
found that place in earth
where one's
from evil kamma free.
127. Không
trên tr¶i, giæa bi¬n,
Không
lánh vào ðµng núi,
Không
ch² nào trên ð¶i,
Tr¯n
ðßþc quä ác nghi®p.
128. Neither
in sky nor surrounding by sea,
nor by dwelling
in a mountain cave,

found that place in earth
where one's
by Death not overcome.
