If you are considering including Vietnamese American literature, I hope you will consider a publication by the Asian American Writers' Workshop entitled "Watermark: Vietnamese American Poetry & Prose." I co-edited it along w/Monique T.D. Truong & Luu Truong Khoi. You can find it on the Barnes & Noble website as well as Amazon.com. Of course, it would be better if you'd order directly from the AAWW (it's non-profit): aaww@panix.com. Obviously, as a co-editor, I'm a little biased, but I do think it's a very strong collection. I'm getting married in June of 1999 to a man who was born in Viet Nam, and defected here in 1980 or 81. He was only 7 or 8 years old, so he has no knowledge or wedding traditions, but I'd like to incorporate something into the ceremony or reception which would acknowledge his heritage.
