This is in effect for all mail going to and from NETCOM to my network and servers. We have received too many complains from our users that they receive spams (Unsolicited Commercial Email) via Netcom mail servers, and complaints to Netcom get no response and/or weak excuses that they are doing something about it. The problem has been on-going for over half a year now. Netcom was on the Realtime Blackhole List for a few days recently because of spams. They made noises and promised to fix their problems.... unfortunately, they have not done so yet and I am tired of waiting. Here are some urls you can check about problems with spams and Netcom. http://maps.vix.com Information about RBL http://spams.abuse.net Information about anti-spam measures For significant news relating to spam http://www-fofa.concordia.ca/spam No End in Sight for Spam - C|Net, 01/07/98 California bill would let E-mail users sue spammers - Computerworld, 1/06/98 America Online Files Suit Against Three Junk E-mail Firms - Business Wire 01/06/98 AOL files suit vs. more spammers - C|Net, 01/07/98 Tin Le ---- Moderator of comp.binaries.ms-windows | CBMSW Archive on Wuarchive.wustl.edu Submissions to cbmsw@Saigon.COM | Questions to cbmsw-request@Saigon.COM URL: http://www.saigon.com, http://www.netimages.com, http://www.viet.net ---------------------------- VN-SINGLES Home Page URL: http://www.saigon.com/~singles To subscribe/unsubscribe to vn-singles, send email to majordomo@saigon.com with one of the following text lines in your message: subscribe vn-singles or unsubscribe vn-singles
