Hi all,
I have put vn-singles back to non-moderate mode.
I have made some changes to the way the list is operated.
I realize that the changes are modest in scope but let's give it
a try and see how it works out, OK?
- all new subscriber requests will first be forwarded to
list admin for approval. This sounds more than what it really is.
Namely, I just want a way to be able to prevent subscribers who
have been kicked off the list to re-subscribe.
- posting has been restricted to just members of the lists.
I realize that many of you have more than one email accounts and
sometimes you want to be able to post from your "other" accounts.
I have created an "allowed_list" for other email accounts. To be
added to the "allowed_list", just send me email with the name of
the "other" email account.
For example, I subscribe to vn-singles as "hle@pacbell.net". But
I sometimes want to post from "hle@qualix.com". Then "hle@qualix.com"
needed to be added to the "allowed_list"
- I have not removed anyone from the subscriber list as
the result of last week posting. So starting with today, everyone
has a clean sheet. I will send out warning for posting that deemed to
be inappropriate, offensive and/or inflammatory. In general,
three-warning-and-you-are-out applies. Occasionally, I will
intervene in a "discussion thread" and issue "please take this
discussion to private email". Theses who refuse to comply to the
request will be removed from the list immediately. I realize that
due the nature of email, you might have replied to a thread before
having a chance to see my "please take this discussion to private
email" request. I will take that into consideration.
To everyone who have sent in suggestions and
comments, thanks. To all subscribers, I appreciate your patience.
