whose victory none may e'er undo,
whose vanquished follow to no world,
then by which track will you trace him?
179. V¸ chiªn th¡ng không bÕi,
V¸ bß¾c ði trên ð(c)i,
Không d¤u tích chiªn th¡ng,
Ph§t gi¾i rµng mênh mông,
Ai dùng chân theo dõi
B§c không ð¬ d¤u tích?
180. that buddha traceless of infinite range
in whom's no entangling craving
and no ensnaring not anywhere leading,
then by which track will you trace him?

181. E'er intent on concentration,
joyful in peace of letting go,
mindful, wise, the perfect Buddhas,
to even devas they are dear.

Thích an t¸nh vin ly,
Chß thiên ð«u ái kính,
B§c chánh giác, chánh ni®m.
182. human birth is hard to gain,
hard for mortals is their life,
to come to dhamma true is hard,
rare the Buddhas' arising.
182. Khó thay, ðß(r)c làm ngß(c)i,
Khó thay, ðß(r)c s¯ng còn,
Khó thay, nghe di®u pháp,
Khó thay, Ph§t ra ð(c)i!
183. every evil never doing
and in wholesomeness increasing
and one's heart well-purifying:
this is the Buddhas' Teaching.
183. Không làm m÷i ði«u ác.
Thành tñu các hÕnh lành,
Tâm ý giæ trong sÕch,
Chính l(c)i chß Ph§t dÕy.
184. Patience's the austerity supreme,
"Nibbana's supreme" the buddhas say.
One who irks or others harms
is not ordained or monk become.
184. Chß Ph§t thß(c)ng giäng dÕy;
Nhçn, kh± hÕnh t¯i thß(r)ng;
Niªt bàn quä t¯i thß(r)ng;
Xu¤t gia không phá ngß(c)i;
Sa môn không hÕi ngß(c)i.
185. not reviling, neither harming,
well-restrained in Patimokha,
knowing reason in one's food,
dwelling far in solitude,
and striving in the mind sublime:
this is the Buddhas' Teaching.
185. Không phï báng, phá hoÕi,
Hµ trì gi¾i cån bän,
Ån u¯ng có tiªt ðµ,
Sàng t÷a ch² nhàn t¸nh
Chuyên chú tång thß(r)ng tâm,
Chính l(c)i chß Ph§t dÕy.
186. not by rain of golden coins
is found desires' satiety,
desires are dukkha, of little joy,
thus a wise one understands.
186. D¥u mßa b¢ng ti«n vàng,
Các døc khó thöa mãn.
Døc ð¡ng nhi«u ng÷t ít,
Biªt v§y là b§c trí.
187. even with pleasures heavenly
that one finds no delight,
the perfect Buddha's pupil
delights in craving's end.
187. Ю tØ b§c chánh giác,
Không tìm c¥u døc lÕc,
D¥u là døc chß thiên,
Chï ßa thích ái di®t.
188. many a refuge do they seek
on hills, in woods, to sacred trees,
to monasteries and shrines they go;
folk by fear tormented.
188. Loài ngß(c)i s(r) hoäng h¯t,
Tìm nhi«u ch² quy y,
Ho£c r×ng r§m, núi non,
Ho£c vß(c)n cây, ð«n tháp.
189. such refuge isn't secure,
such refuge isn't supreme.
From all dukkha one's not free
unto that refuge gone.
189. quy y ¤y không ±n,
Không quy y t¯i thß(r)ng.
Quy y các ch² ¤y,
Không thoát m÷i kh± ðau?
190. but going for refuge to Buddha,
to dhamma and the sangha too,
one sees with perfect wisdom
the tetrad of the noble Truths:
190. ai quy y ÐÑc Ph§t,
Chánh pháp và chß tång,
Ai dùng chánh tri kiªn,
Th¤y ðß(r)c b¯n Thánh ðª.
191. Dukkha, its causal arising,
the overcoming of dukkha,
and the eight-fold path that's Noble
leading to dukkha's allaying.
191. Th¤y kh± và kh± t§p,
Th¤y sñ kh± vß(r)t qua,
Th¤y ðß(c)ng Thánh tám ngành,
Ðßa ðªn kh± não t§n.
192. such refuge is secure,
such refuge is supreme.
From all dukkha one is free
unto that refuge gone.
192. Th§t quy y an ±n,
Th§t quy y t¯i thß(r)ng,
Có quy y nhß v§y,
M¾i thoát m÷i kh± ðau.
193. hard to find the pure and noble
who isn't born just anywhere,
wherever one so wise is born
that family thrives happily.
193. Khó g£p b§c thánh nh½n,
Không phäi ðâu cûng có.
Ch² nào b§c trí sanh,
Gia ðình t¤t an lÕc.
194. blessed is the birth of Buddhas,
blest true Dhamma's Teaching,
blest the Sangha's harmony
and blessed is their striving.
194. vui thay, Ph§t ra ð(c)i!
Vui thay, Pháp ðß(r)c giäng!
Vui thay, Tång hòa h(r)p!
Hòa h(r)p tu, vui thay!
195. who venerates the venerable
Buddhas or their disciples,
have overcome the manifold,
grief and lamentation left.

Chß Ph§t ho£c ð® tØ,
Các b§c vß(r)t hý lu§n,
ÐoÕn di®t m÷i s¥u bi.
196. they who are "Thus", venerable,
cool and free from every fear -
no one is able to calculate
their merit as "just-so-much".
